The Annapurna Circuit Trek is a renowned trekking route known for its diversity and beauty. It’s a classic trek, lasting 19 days and covering diverse landscapes ranging from subtropical forests and terraced rice paddies to high-altitude deserts while offering views of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Annapurna I (8,091m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Manaslu (8163), and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
The trek starts from Besisahar, located in the lowlands, and meanders in the foothills of the Marsyangdi Valley, showcasing scenic Gurung, Thakali, and Manangi villages. It also features Buddhist monasteries and the famed Thorong La Pass (5,416m), the highest and most challenging point of the trek. From there, the trek descends to the holy Muktinath region, onwards to the windswept Kali Gandaki Gorge, which is the deepest canyon in the world.
The gradual pace of the trek permits cultural integration, therefore, this is a well-balanced route around the marvelous Annapurna Massif.
