Located in the northern part of the Manaslu region, Tsum Valley lies near the Tibetan border, making it one of the most culturally vibrant valleys in Nepal. Tsum Valley Trek is famously known as a culturally rich region which is suffused with serenity, still capturing the hearts of its visitors. It was opened for trekkers as recently as in the year 2008. It is popularly known as an off the beaten path trekking route. This trail takes trekkers through stunning landscapes of the Himalayas, peaceful Buddhist villages, ancient Buddhist monasteries, and places which have barely experienced modern civilisation.
Regarded as one of the most spiritually enlightening valleys, Tsum Valley is rightly referred to as the “Valley of Happiness”. The valley has strong roots in Tibetan Buddhism which is evidenced through the prayer flags and other artefacts scattered around the spot. With valleys and peaks like Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Himalchuli, the valley is engulfed in centuries old traditions. A visit to Tsum Valley serves the dual purpose of appreciating nature whilst immersing in the rich Nepalese culture.
